THE QUEST RESORT & SPA
2015
OBJECTIVE: Complete a mixed-use residential and commercial destination resort located in Bachelor Gulch, Colorado that is set up as a main hotel/restaurant as well as individual "pods" for guests to stay in. In order to keep costs down, the construction of all the buildings are energy-efficient, environmentally responsible, and furnished with soft materials and coverings that contain a minimum blend of 85% cotton. The project scope contains the design and planning of 3 interior pod types, a hotel main entrance, lobby, reception and registration, restaurant and lounge, outdoor pool, and spa. All designed elements are barrier free, meeting ADA requirements regarding access, egress and restrooms.
PROGRAMS: REVIT, PHOTOSHOP

North facing exterior view. The indoor/outdoor pool is half covered by tempered glass and half exposed to the crisp Colorado air. The indoor section is heated and has a swim up bar that serves all kinds of beverages. The outside patio can be enjoyed during the warmer seasons, with private cabanas housing fire pits for rental.

Also on the first floor (respecting this image): The Cafe on the left serves light meals, hot beverages, and smoothies. This is the perfect place to take a break from the slopes and enjoy a cup of hot cocoa. The right side of the resort houses public restrooms and private employee offices, a conference room, and storage and utility rooms. This wing also offers a computer room and a bonus room for families to play games and hang out.

The second floor houses the Mesa Bar and Restaurant. The decor throughout the second floor resembles the winding paths found on the sky slopes and trails on the mountain. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating, providing optimal mountain views.

Wall and ceiling materials have curving cuts meant to mimic ski lines in snow.

The theme continues in the furniture.

The bar area offers a spectacular view of the mountain.

The second floor also offers the "Bachelor Lounge" - an intimate and moody hideaway for adults to enjoy cocktails and social hours.

Transverse Section. The top floor serves as a private event space available for rental. Floor to ceiling windows allow for a breath-taking view.


The First Floor houses a striking lobby decorated with natural materials and greenery. Stone blocks sit under tempered glass meant to resemble stepping stones. To the left are spacious restrooms with changing areas. On the right sits a serene spa/pool hideaway. A yoga studio made up of all windows is the prefect place to unwind and take in all the beauty that the mountain has to offer.

The second floor houses multiple message rooms, as well as an outdoor patio with cabanas for couple's messages. A relaxation room awaits guests for after their message. The room is decorated by a soothing fountain wall, flowing drapes, and an intricate, organic looking ceiling structure.


Each massage room has a shower located in the back for guests to rinse off before and after their massage.




















The Deluxe Pod features a spa room with a hot tub, a fire place, and a garage door that can keep the room warm in the chilly winter months, or let in some fresh air during the breezy spring and summer seasons.



MONTGOMERY GALLERY & LOFT APARTMENT

OBJECTIVE: Design a gallery and loft apartment for a couple living in New York City who are captivated by Mid-Century Modern design, art, and furniture. The gallery will serve as a space for the couple to display and sell Mid-Century pieces, as well as entertain guests and hold gallery functions

WE FIND COMFORT IN STRUCTURE BECAUSE WE SEEK STRUCTURE WITHIN OUR LIVES. THE GEMOETRY AND SYMMETRY OF THESE MID-CENTURY MODERN PIECES WILL INVITE CUSTOMERS TO LOOK AT AND INTREACT WITH EACH OBJECT. THE ARRAY OF POSITIONS THESE PRODUCTS CAN BE SET IN WILL ALLOW THE OWNERS FREEDOM TO ARRANGE THEM IN THEIR OWN UNIQUE VISION. ADORNED BY MANY COLORS AND PATTERNS, THIS TRENDY SHOP EXUDES EXCITEMENT. EASY TO NAVIGATE, THIS FLOOR PLAN ALLOWS THIS OUTLET TO BE CONVENTIONAL BUT STILL CREATIVE.

The first floor houses the furniture and art gallery. a white washed brick arch way leads you into the gathering space, complete with seating and a full-functioning kitchen. A private office space and storage room are located in the back of the building. A ramp and an elevator ensure accessible mobility throughout the space.

The couple lives upstairs in a loft apartment. The kitchen and dining space are made separate from the living room by a white washed brick wall. The study offers a desk for maintaining the gallery business, as well as a pull out couch for any guests and a separate guest bath. A Master Bathroom and Laundry room can be accessed through the spacious Master Bedroom.
